Podere Brizio was founded in 1996, though as of 2013, is part of IAG Toscana Srl in conjunction with Fattoria Dievole. The estate comprises 11.5 hectares of vines, which are used to produce Brunello di Montalcino (7 hectares), Rosso di Montalcino (1 hectare), and IGT wines (3.5 hectares). All farming is done organically, with viticulture spearheaded by local agronomist Lorenzo Bernini.

The estate’s vines are located in the Santa Restituta area of Montalcino, which is deemed by many as one of the best areas in the appellation, due mostly in part to its south-west exposure and hail protection from nearby Monte Amiata. Podere Brizio’s cellar is under the oversight of Alberto Antonini and Giovanni Alberio, who vinify the wines in temperature-controlled steel vats followed by aging in large French oak casks.
